Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency at which you'll need to manually vacuum. Select a vacuum that is well-trained in navigation, can clean corners and stairs and also has a large bin that needs to be emptying every so often.
There are models that can mop and charge themselves which can be important for people with pets or children. The top performers in our tests have excellent obstacle avoidance.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a good choice for people who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of having to empty their dust bin manually when it fills up.
Both robots are adept at removing surface dirt on carpets and hard floors, and they can easily move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have test. It could get stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes putting away any toys or clutter it may encounter. It is also recommended to keep the filters and dust bin free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically takes the dirt out of the docking station's dust bin. Then it continues cleaning from where it left off. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of continuous usage. It takes about three hours to fully charge.
2. Roomba from iRobot
The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most important feature of all -- it has an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot with voice or through the app.
The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying, which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the cost of maintenance.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions, move itself around the room and sweep the area. Connecting robotic vacuum cleaner best robotvacuummops to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. After connecting we were able to give the i7+ voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world full of cordless vacs that look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like a sports car. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered with a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy, which produces power without fading for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then releases cleaner air into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets and collect large particles or fine dust. It has three different suction modes that can be adapted to suit the task. It is able to swiftly change from handheld to floor vacuum and vice versa.
The model comes with a dock which charges the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also provides the ability to connect two attachments as well as a Wand. This is a significant improvement over the older Dysons models, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its short run time. As CR's tests have shown, its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are not true. This is a standard, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of a typical-sized home, but not quite long enough to cover every spot (though the second time around usually does the trick). That's not to say this model doesn't have its benefits: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming efficiency is better on low-pile carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
The 694 is a basic robot vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on an expensive robot. It's capable of sucking up most debris types and sizes during our tests, and it frequently goes over the same areas several times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front makes it possible to reach corners and the edges of walls.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top selections, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. As a result, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and frequently runs out of battery power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower costs for recurring expenses and has more advanced automation capabilities and can better maneuver its own. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most reasons, since it has a longer battery life, can change the suction power mode by hand and has physical boundary strips, and is operated by your phone's voice assistant. It's also more durable, has a stronger motor, and performs better on floors with low pile and bare.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a name you see on all sorts of home electronics So it's no surprise that they're one of the most popular robot vacuum and mop manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner, including virtual barriers mopping water levels, behavior adjustments, docking frequency settings, and much more. It's easy to understand and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it removed 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). It was not as successful in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested, and this could be a deal breaker for certain shoppers.
The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that you can access through the app, and you can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to check in on pets or the kids if you're away from home. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned to ensure the quick and easy cleaning. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean and tidy station that self-empties to keep the robot's dustbin clear and optimizes its suction power for each cleaning run.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Contrary to other robotic vacuums that are made for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path and an extra-large dustbin that holds twice as much debris than other models to keep the area clean for the longest time. In addition, they have two side sweepers to clean around edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model comes with AutoSense technology, which senses if it's picking up dirt or debris on the surface and then automatically adjusts the power level. It also comes with a smart app that lets you see the virtual map and control functions and schedules. You can also monitor the battery's status and send it back to its dock to charge at the push of one button. The app allows you to personalize the LED lights on the top of the vacuum by using different colors, so that you can easily identify which areas it's focused on or where it's stuck.
The app makes it possible to steer the robot manually, if necessary. For instance my living room rug has a darkly colored border that has a tendency to trip up some of the other robots I've tried. However the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border without registering it as a cliff. And the ability to program weekly cleaning schedules is a great time-saving convenience.
